Why Nexus Ignis

Precision printing in demanding materials

We specialise exclusively in high-performance polymers. Your file, our expertise in material and process.
01

PEEK specialisation

Biocompatible grades available, heat-resistant up to 260°C, highly chemical-resistant. One of the most demanding materials to print — our entire setup is built around it.

02

Layer precision

Layer thickness down to 0.1 mm. We print your file exactly as specified — no interpretation, no modification.

03

Quality assurance

Every component documented. Material certificate and traceability available on request.

04

Short lead times

From approved file to printed part within days. Prototypes without tooling costs.

05

Reverse engineering

No design file? Send us the physical part. We 3D-scan it and print a copy in your chosen material — a copy, not a redesign. You approve the scan before we print.

What we print in

Verified industry-grade materials from certified suppliers only. You choose the material — we print your file in it.

Properties shown are indicative. For material selection advice, please consult a qualified engineer. We print your design in your chosen material — we do not advise on material suitability for your application.

The materials below will be our core stock from launch. In principle we can also work with any material our equipment supports — if it is not in stock, we source it. No request is turned down on material choice alone.

PEEK (polyetheretherketone), PEKK (polyetherketoneketone) and PEI (Ultem) are among the most demanding materials to 3D print. These semi-crystalline and amorphous high-performance polymers require nozzle temperatures of roughly 350–450°C and a heated print chamber to prevent warping and interlayer delamination — conditions standard desktop printers are not built for. The CreatBot PEEK-300 that Nexus Ignis is built around is specifically engineered for these temperatures and chamber control, enabling consistent, industrial-grade results. This makes PEEK, PEKK and PEI the materials of choice for aerospace structures, medical technology and components that must perform under extreme mechanical, chemical or thermal load.

Process

How it works

We are a printing service. The process is straightforward — you bring the design, we handle the printing.
Important: Nexus Ignis does not offer design services. We do not create, modify, repair or optimise design files. Your file must be print-ready before submission.
01

Prepare your file

Create your design using CAD software of your choice. Export as .STL, .STEP or .OBJ. Ensure your file is print-ready, dimensionally correct and watertight. We do not modify files.

02

Submit your request

Fill in our quote form. Specify your material, desired quantity and any tolerances, then email us your design file. We will review printability and respond within 2 business days.

03

Receive your quote

We send a detailed quote including price, lead time and any technical observations regarding printability. If your file cannot be printed as-is, we will inform you — we will not modify it.

04

Approval & production

After your written approval we begin printing. We print your file exactly as submitted. No changes are made without a new written approval from you.

05

Delivery & documentation

Your component is delivered to your address. Material certificate and quality report available on request. All orders are stored in our system for your records.

Building Nexus Ignis — in the open

We are not hiding behind a polished website. Here is the real, current state of the build — updated as it happens.

Building a Clean Printing Room for PEEK in Limburg

The former shed behind our home is being converted into the dedicated Clean Printing Room for the CreatBot PEEK-300. Brick walls, sealed concrete floor, and a controlled environment — PEEK printing needs stable temperature and a dust-free space to produce consistent, certifiable parts.

Current status: structure stripped back, floor sealed and cleaned, walls exposed and ready for insulation and finishing. Next steps: insulation, wall finish, electrical work for the printer, and climate control — planned ahead of the printer's arrival once financing is approved.
